Wastewater treatment for Baby and Nepal elephants

Baby and Nepal are 2 elephants who had found refuge with the Brigitte Bardot Foundation. The realization of their reception enclosure was supported by HSH Princess Stéphanie of Monaco within the’Baby and Nepal association.

Falsely diagnosed as carrying tuberculosis and narrowly escaping euthanasia, the 2 elephants, however, were offered a well-deserved retirement by Princess Stephanie with the energy and support of all those who stood up for them.

But‘The space that was going to accommodate them had to face the problem of its discharge water. They can be harmful to vegetation and nearby sources. EauNergie was commissioned to create a wastewater treatment and recovery facility.

A tailor-made treatment

EauNergie can adapt its solutions to very specific situations.

Adapt to constraints

Source or waste water, EauNergie nevertheless makes all water drinkable.

Recycle wastewater

Treat the water, is to give it a second use so as not to waste it.

Save the Elephants Baby and Nepal

Alerted by the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, Princess Stéphanie offered a solution for elephants at the end of their life and found a land to welcome them. They thus escaped euthanasia and took a nice retirement after their life at the Zoo.

It was therefore necessary to create this reception area for the elephants. An enclosure that can preserve its own vegetation and not pollute the surrounding nature.

Save them 2 elephants, it was just as much taking up the challenge of a clean and sustainable habitat for them. And EauNergie would be able to provide its solutions in the treatment and recovery of wastewater to bring this project to fruition..

The elephants were able to reach their home by 2013. In 2018, Nepal has unfortunately left us swept away by old age.

Save resources

Recycling water is an asset when it is difficult to access and must be plentiful.

Z

Recover waste

Discharges harmful to vegetation can become pure water to irrigate it.

Autonomy of the enclosure

With recycling, the enclosure is much less dependent on water and its costs.

Create tailor-made

Elephant wastewater is mainly composed of washing water and their urine. It is all the more important to treat them as their acidity can quickly destroy the ecosystem of the enclosure and manhandle the vegetation.

EauNergie has therefore created a tailor-made installation for the recovery of this wastewater.. She treats them and recycles them into irrigation water.

The water produced is used to irrigate bamboos. These bamboos are also like candy for the elephants and the system provided by EauNergie allows this recycling to be advantageously enhanced to finally satisfy the elephants.

The water is thus used 2 time. First for washing and quenching the thirst of elephants, then for watering their ornamental vegetation.

Environmental Protection

Without a suitable solution, the enclosure would have suffered the disappearance of its plants.

P

Virtuous circle

Take care of the environment, it is also enjoying all its benefits.

Food production

The perfect treatment of the water allows it to be reused for watering.
